A nuisance in Lake Inawashiro becomes a hero!? An experience learning about water quality conservation
Experience collecting water chestnuts or aquatic plants
~ Preserving beautiful scenery for the future ~
Currently, the water caltrop (Diamond) plant, which grows naturally in Lake Inawashiro in Fukushima Prefecture, continues to proliferate. The excessive growth of the plant dies off in autumn, eventually rotting and remaining in the lake, causing concern as a cause of water pollution. Aiming to restore Lake Inawashiro, which once boasted the best water quality in Japan, we are creating tea products using the fruit of this nuisance, the water caltrop, transforming this nuisance into a tourist attraction and promoting water environment conservation activities as a sustainable business. Come learn about the water environment and meet the challengers working to solve local issues.

Fukushima FONT Program
Learn about the future of FONT
Why not join us on a journey to tell the story of a town trying to overcome the earthquake and nuclear accident using a new typeface, FONT?
The FONT program provides participants with learning opportunities
and a perspective on future social change through local interactions
and business visits in Futaba, Okuma, Namie, and Tomioka, located
along the coast of Fukushima Prefecture.
This area was one of the hardest hit by the nuclear accident in 2011,
forcing all residents to evacuate. However, after thorough
decontamination work, parts of these towns have now reopened and
people can once again live safely.
This program will help visitors understand the past, present, and
future of this region through a combination of various programs
(community exchanges, tours, workshops, and other experiences), and
will provide insights and learnings into the way individuals live
their lives. Visitors will be able to learn about the residents who
are working together to revitalize the region, which will be a
valuable experience.

coordination capabilities that connect these networks.
We can provide learning opportunities for a variety of subjects on a

Experience shrimp fishing on the mountain! Catch and eat freshly caught, plump, "jumping" shrimp!
Fish, eat, and learn about seafood in the mountains of Fukushima
Located in the mountains, "HANERU Katsurao" is one of the largest land-based shrimp farms in Japan. They cultivate vannamei shrimp using an environmentally friendly "fully closed, recirculating land-based farming" method. Here, you can try your hand at shrimp fishing and savor freshly caught shrimp on the spot, whether as sashimi, shabu-shabu, or grilled with salt, while learning about shrimp farming on the mountain during a tour of the farming facility. Through this experience, you can experience the appeal of shrimp, which has the potential to become a new specialty product of Fukushima.
